When did you first start CrossFit? 2011
Tell us about your sports & fitness background: High school athlete: Cross Country, Basketball and Track. I played Collegiate Basketball for Concordia University. I have a degree in Kinesiology and Health Science. I was a personal trainer and fitness director at a large chain gym. In my mid-20’s, I was a kickboxing instructor and fighter. I also did Taekwondo for 5 years.
How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? I have always worked with a trainer or had a coach. I believe that is the best way to stay in shape, stay focused and stay motivated. She exposed me to CrossFit for the first time.
Favorite Workout/Least Favorite Workout: My favorite workout is probably power cleans Least favorite is thrusters. They bring back painful memories!
What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting CF (before/after)? I have never been stronger and more committed to my fitness. CrossFit is one of the most fun and challenging things I have ever done.
What sort of unexpected changes in your life have you experienced out of taking on something like CrossFit? I used CrossFit to find a level of fitness that I lost after having a baby… here I am!
Please share with us any favorite CrossFit moments: I love dance parties in our box and building and sharing community at Rigor Nation. I love that I can go any where in the country and connect with people like me!
Any advice for people just getting started or new to CrossFit? It is so worth it!! Challenge yourself and be willing to be uncomfortable. You will find the work outs that you are best and the work outs that you need ALOT of work! Each work out is so worth it!
